As a warmup for his upcoming solo album, Matt Berninger (The National front man and lead singer) has released a new song titled One More Second, other tunes previously released were Distant Axis & Serpentine Prison, which the last one gives title to the album.

The style of the songs so far, is a relaxed and calmed one. Lets say in the same direction as If we would be listening to The National but going on a slower pace, just looking at the sightseeing while reflecting in our minds with the lyrics.

One More Second begins with an acoustic guitar and Matt´s special voice taking us into this tranquil state where lovers instead of being fighting are getting to the point of an imminent breakup, but still one of the parts has hope and willingness to fight for it. Have you ever been in that position? It is rough but after that, either should be better or worse for good. This is exemplified with the lyrics “Cause the way you looked at me this morning, It gave my weak heart warning, Give me one more second to dry my eyes, Give me one more day to realize, Smoke´s in our eyes or in the distance, Either way we´re gonna miss it”.

Is nice to see bands and singers do alternate projects, on this specific case Matt Berninger gives a different touch to the songs and we can´t wait to listen the full album which will be available next October the 16th 2020, in the meantime sit back, relax and let´s patiently wait for the “Serpentine Prison” to be released.
