The UK has always been a land of talented people on the music area, specially on the rock scene and is natural that new bands hit the stage of local bars, starting to create awareness of their sound in the industry, making a name for themselves. Last November 2019 the single “Who´s Ur Girl” from the Liverpool band The Mysterines was available and the first chords of it showed a powerful rhythm combined with the fury of the guitar riff, looking for a bright beginning.

A few months before, back in August 2019 the band actually performed and closed the “BBC Introducing Stage” at the Reading and Leeds music festival, there´s actually an official recording of their song “Gasoline” from that performance at the BBC Music channel on Youtube where the energy deployed on stage can be seen as another element of why they will become big in the future as one of those acts that keep the rock and roll essence in their veins.

Their debut EP (Extended Play) contains 4 songs, “Take Control, “Hormone”, “Gasoline” & “Bet Your Pretty Face”.  “Take Control” gives name to the EP and is a song about rupture and being frightened about getting the right things done for your own sake exemplified in lyrics such as “Well I´ve heard it before, I don´t wanna know it anymore, Well I´ve heard it before, My fear comes back to take control”.

Recently on 2020 they released two new singles, “Love´s Not Enough” and “I Win Every Time”. The first one has a softer sound where the voice of Lia Metcalfe provides an amazing contrast given that she has a strong voice making the song an interesting journey about the rise and fall of love having still some kind of hope at the end that we embrace when struggling on this topic shown on the lyrics, “Sometimes love´s not enough to make things last, Sometimes love´s not enough to make things last, Though love´s not enough there´s always, Love´s not enough there´s always you”. “I Win Every Time” has that raw rock sound with those punk flashbacks where the vocals from Lia adapt so greatly while going through several ranges of notes.

On February 2021 they will tour the UK with the “Life Is A Bitch Tour” and surely will be part of music festivals in order to continue promoting their music as one of the new bands taking the rock and roll spirit for the upcoming generations, becoming the new sensation of the genre in the near future; from Liverpool to the world…The Mysterines!
