On August the 21st the Nevada band will release their 6th album (Sawdust is categorized as a compilation) and the last preview we have before listen “Imploding The Mirage” on its entirety is the song Dying Breed which was released on August the 14th. Prior to this we heard Caution, Fire In Bone and My Own Soul´s Warning.

The beginning of Dying Breed has similar sound of a ticking clock that gets a bit more sporadic while the intro continues, the voice of Brandon Flowers initiates to sing the lyrics still with that rhythm where on verse 1 and verse 2 is making reference to a dying breed that can be interpreted as a couple that is willing to be together despite the circumstances, but while going trough the different moments and experiences sometimes feel that they can not make it but remembering the promises and how they feel about each other, they continue to be together, romantic isn’t it?

The Killers have this particular sound and song structure in which some of their songs have kind of rising action to afterwards get to a climax; somehow like a theatrical dramatic structure which makes you being at the edge of it, curious of what will happen next. This moment can be heard on the bridge-chorus with the lyrics “What If we are not prepared for this, What If we just cant find the trail, And I remember the promise I made, And the way that I felt, From the coveted touch of a girl in love, I was taken by the sound of a spirit in need, Baby we´re a dying breed, we got everything we need, Baby we´re a dying breed”.

So far the preview of the album sounds exciting, Caution was a good pick as first single and with the latest song Dying Breed we can´t wait till listen it all, so warm up till next Friday 08/21 when Imploding The Mirage will be available for all the “Victims” of The Killers.
