There´s a long way back to 2016 in which Motion City Soundtrack, an emblematic rock and roll-punk band decided that was time to take a break as life changes, circumstances do as well and is fair and respectable when that decision is made. The fans of course could rely on the songs and music from the band because coming back or not, that legacy remains.

Mid of 2019 the band announced a tour all over the USA for 2020, which kicked off on New Years Eve in Chicago (what a way to celebrate the new decade!). They came to Boston on Jan 6th under a typical cold winter night to perform at the “House Of Blues” which is right behind Fenway Park, the most beloved park of America, witness of the Boston Red Sox achievements.

As a reunion tour, most of the classics were performed like “A Life Less Ordinary (Need A Little Help)”, “The Future Freaks Me Out”, “Broken Heart”, “L.G. FUAD” this one with moshpit included or the beautifully executed “Last Night” in which the lyrics “The truth is I´m too tired to play pretend, This is goodbye, this the end” sounded very nice at the venue.

Is good to see the Minnesota band back (or “Minnesnowta” as some locals use to name the state on winter time) Is cool that the connection with their fans is still there, even the lead singer Justin Pierre stopped the show for a moment to sign a shirt!, he was telling some stories of prior shows at Boston like in one he was struggling with his voice and the gig became a big karaoke lead by the fans. This only confirms the power and meaning of music and why not? Fair to say that between the fans and Motion City Soundtrack everything is alright!
