The NYC band is without a doubt a reference of strong, dark and deep lyrics. Sometimes their songs take a couple of replays in order to fully digest the meaning and musical intention, which by the way keeps evolving since Turn On The Bright Lights till the latest album Marauder. But once engaged you start a profound journey from which you can’t, neither want to escape.
Paul Banks and company are musicians that take their role in the music industry very seriously. The performances during the first years were with suits as a dress code; lately they have relaxed a bit without the ties but keeping a sophisticated elegance when playing songs like a powerful Obstacle 1, Evil (which has an amazing music video) or the very intense Lights capturing your attention from beginning to end.
The band continues to be on an extensive tour still this 2019 and with their “normal” interval of time between records, we could expect new music by 2021 or 2022. Nevertheless, in the meantime there are 6 amazing albums that will keep taking us on a cruise of darkness, meaningful lyrics and stylish music.
