Remember when you were 18? Full of life, thinking about your college options? Or maybe taking a year off to decide which way to go on your upcoming adult life. As well, If music was your passion you thought that was time to be in a city with a great music scene and start to pursue your dream. On January 26th 2020 a huge event took place showing that young people can be recognized for their talent.

The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, was literally a magic night for Billie Eilish in which she won: Best New Artist, Best Song, Best Record & Album Of The Year. Simply, a massive achievement for her that will for sure bring more success as this is just the beginning.

You may wonder how she got there? With only one full length album “When We All Fall Sleep, Where Do We Go? Her sound is fresh and very catchy. Pay attention to the initial bass riff from “Bad Guy” which you listen once, and the rhythm just invite you to keep moving and listen to it more and more.

One song that has a dark atmosphere is “Bury A Friend” but when she softens her voice on the part “What Do You Want From Me? Why Don’t You Run From Me? What Are You Wondering? What Do You Know?” gives light and hope to it.

At the Grammy Awards she performed “When The Party Is Over” with her brother Finneas on the piano. He tours with Billie and he produced her album; meaning that was a big night for him as well, which surely the O’Connell brothers will never forget. They have a very good relationship and proof of it can be seen in the song “Everything I Wanted”, where at the beginning of the music video has the following message: “Finneas is my brother and my best friend. No matter the circumstance, we always have and always will be there for each other”.

The start of the 2020’s decade will always be remembered by how a young 18 years old girl won 4 Grammy’s with a fresh and unique style. I’m glad that I was not asleep when she got this deserved recognition, as no matter where do we go, I wanna go listening to her songs!
