At Birmingham something was about to be created, something was about to come up to the surface. A defining moment for music and a genre was about to begin.
The initial rain, the thunder and the ringing bell that were suddenly silenced by the guitar riff from Tony Iommi and Ozzy´s Osbourne voice on the song “Black Sabbath” provided the first glance of what the world would know as “Heavy Metal”.
Was impressive that the first album song also had the band´s name and would be the start of a movement that years after kept bringing new artists and exponents inspired for that sound and uniqueness from Black Sabbath.
50 is a big number, but it really means a lot to all the music and headbanger fans out there, because every heavy metal fan was inducted via Black Sabbath or at some point of their musical discovery, the songs of this band were a must; like spreading magic as the band perfectly states in their song “The Wizard”.
Heavy Metal wouldn’t exist without Black Sabbath, and the movement they created with this iconic album has transcended by several generations, and that´s how you define a moment in music history.
