On the early 2000´s a “virtual” band saw the light, an experiment that could have had several outcomes and maybe just 1 or 2 albums. Nevertheless on 2020 they keep making music with the latest “Song Machine”. But now is time to celebrate and go back 10 years with Gorillaz and their 3rd record “Plastic Beach”.

Maybe not as mainstream as their first and homonymous, but undoubtedly containing songs that still on their latest 2017 & 2018 world tour were performed live. “Stylo” as the first single had that typical catchy beat, followed by the chill out rap from the second single “Superfast Jellyfish”.

Is worth to say that Damon Albarn influences from other projects are somehow reflected as well. The first chords of the beautiful “To Binge” bring some memories of the amazing “To The End” by Blur.

Another song that stands out is “On Melancholy Hill”. It reflects calm with an unexplained hope and sadness on Damon´s voice while singing “ If you can´t get what you want, Then you come with me” or “Just looking out for the day, When you´re close to me”. 10 years already and surely some sighs after singing the song take place by the fans.

A decade after. The virtual members 2-D, Murdoc, Russel & Noodle are very present when we listen to this album and make us want to go to a lonely plastic beach and listen nothing but Gorillaz.
