The song which gives name as well to the 2nd Wolf Alice album has a high and low rhythm taking you on a nice ride during the almost 8 minutes of length, Yes! 8 minutes! Which in the digital world that we live in, where consumption and disposal is something “normal” wanted to step back a bit and appreciate this masterpiece from the British band.
The first 2 verses are lead by a slow tempo and Ellie´s sweet voice, then a faster beat on the drums appears and she continues to sing with that sweet voice but longer notes, can be heard a guitar solo and afterwards that sweet voice turns into desperation screams while accompanied with a guitar riff making this part an absolute jewel.
After that adrenaline, the lyrics seem to be telling the story of someone that is looking its life going by, trying to find an identity with ups and downs till at some point the lyrics state “Stay as you are, Everybody likes you, Everybody cares, There´s some insight for you” and a little bit further the punch line “I heard that journeys end in lovers meeting, But my journey ends when my heart stops beating, I´m leaving”
The timing to the outro is something epic till Ellie´s voice almost disappears while whispering the last words “Cut it in half, better than dead”. This song takes you to several emotions which of course are part of life itself but the most important is for you to enjoy and envision the life you aspire and fight for it!
