Thoughts about Wetsuit by The Vaccines

The debut album from The Vaccines, “What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?” has some really good songs and got into the audience taste of indie rock on the early 2010´s. Today, want to look into maybe not their most popular track but one that has pure soul with increasing rhythm and energy, “Wetsuit”.

The initial lines of the song are so deep; “If at some point we all succumb, For goodness sake, Let us be young, Cause time gets harder to outrun, And I´m nobody, I´m not done”. And just right after a drum-beat starts to sound, increasing the momentum while the voice from Justin keeps singing the lyrics.

The words and the song itself are a call for motivation, which anyone can relate as time keeps ticking despite sometimes we just miss important things in life while chasing others that are not so much, noticing that afterwards. However anytime is a good opportunity to wear a “wetsuit” and do something different that make us happy and most important do not regret for not even try.

As the years go by this is a song that remains powerful and keeps feeling very energetic. If you watch the live version they performed at the O2 Academy Brixton on 2016 you´ll have a nice snapshot of how the crowd sings and gets excited with the track. So don´t forget to start new things, chase that dream on hold and keep going while listening this song on your way!
