Thoughts about 505 an Arctic Monkeys song

505, the last track of Arctic Monkeys sophomore album “Favourite Worst Nightmare” published on 2007 is a song that has a lot of sentiment and embraces you on an emotional roller coaster slightly speeding up, getting to a climax, and decelerating the emotions of this love song.

It starts with an organ and Alex Turner voice only, with some guitar chords played in between for a nostalgic vibe before the drums kick in, to slowly accelerate the rhythm of the song. Afterwards a characteristic guitar riff appears as a prelude of a feelings explosion that were so deeply inside and were just about to explode If not spoken.

The outburst begins with the lyrics “But I crumble completely when you cry, It seems like once again you´ve had to greet me with goodbye, I´m always just about to go and spoil a surprise, Take my hands off of your eyes too soon”. Continuing with the musical explosion till finalize with the same guitar riff that was the prelude of this sentimental roller coaster, and of course the organ had to be present at the end one more time.

One brilliant song that still on their latest tours has been performed because it´s pure adrenaline when played live, as makes you wonder about that person which you have or have had some arguments but you were always willing to make it up somehow…at your own 505; which the question here would be; Where´s your 505? And are you still going there?
